On November 15th, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Prescott Police officers responded to a report of a theft of a large amount of alcohol from CVS, located at 901 Willow Lake Rd. The theft was committed by three female suspects that drove away from the scene prior to officer arrival.
In the following hour, the same three suspects were reported to be at CVS, 560 Miller Valley Rd and Walgreens, 178 E. Sheldon St, attempting to steal again. The staff at those locations were able to deter the thefts and the suspects drove away in the same described vehicle as before. Officers were able to locate and stop a vehicle matching the description in the 600 block of Whipple Street.
Through the course of the investigation, officers were able to identify three females in the vehicle that matched the description from the original theft. The suspects were identified as Lashawna Mason, a 32-year-old California resident, Victoria Tyson, a 24-year-old Nevada resident, and Shondesha Price, a 30-year-old Nevada resident. Also in the vehicle was the reported stolen alcohol from CVS.
The suspects were detained and during the interview, admitted that they had arrived in town from out of state, committed the theft, and intended on selling the stolen alcohol to a business out of state. The suspects were also found to be in possession of tools to help assist in the removal of theft deterrent devices commonly placed on alcohol by vendors.
All three suspects were arrested and booked into the Yavapai County jail on charges of organized retail theft, felony shoplifting, possession of a theft detection device remover, and attempted trafficking in stolen property. The total value of the alcohol stolen in this case was approximately $1000.00.
