Gwen Rowitsch Named Public Works Director for City of Prescott

The City of Prescott has named Gwen Rowitsch Public Works Director.  Rowitsch had served as Deputy Public Works Director since 2020 and has worked for the City of Prescott since 2007.

“I am pleased to name Gwen Public Works Director,” said City Manager Katie Gregory.  ”Her experience, combined with her leadership skills and commitment to the citizens of Prescott, will continue to serve the City well in this new role.”

“Public Works is a very busy department, providing essential services such as water, wastewater, drainage, transportation, solid waste and street maintenance to the residents of this community,” said Gwen.  “We’re very proud of the work that we do every day.  I am grateful to be a part of such a hard-working dynamic team.”

Gwen has over 30 years of local government experience in Yavapai County.  Prior to working for Prescott she worked in various capacities for the Town of Prescott Valley and the Town of Chino Valley.

Gwen was born and raised in Phoenix.  Upon graduation from high school, she joined the United States Army where she worked in public affairs, specifically as a broadcast journalist at the United States Military Academy at West Point.  A resident of Prescott since 1992, Gwen and her husband Joe have three grown children and two grandchildren.
