On Monday, July 10th, 2023, at approximately 7:01 p.m., Prescott Police officers responded to a vehicle versus a pedestrian collision at the intersection of Willow Creek Road and Flora Street.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a 59-year-old Prescott resident, driving a Hyundai sedan, was traveling northbound on Willow Creek Road in the curb lane when she collided with a pedestrian, a 16-year-old Prescott resident, who was attempting to cross Willow Creek Road.
The Prescott Fire Department and EMS personnel responded to the scene to provide medical aid to the pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained injuries to his head and was flown from YRMC West to a Phoenix area hospital. The driver of the vehicle was not cited for any traffic violations and neither speed nor impairment are believed to be a factor in this incident.
The traffic at Willow Creek Road and Flora Street was closed for approximately three hours in both directions while the scene was being investigated. If you witnessed this incident, please call Lead Police Officer Rich Doty at (928) 777-1943.
