The Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation is proud to announce a historic moment as of March 1st – all their programs will be expanded to service the Verde Valley.
“Until now, the majority of our programs helped current and former foster youth whose cases originated in the Yavapai County Juvenile Courts in Prescott, and those who resided in Western Yavapai County,” stated Mona Stephens, Development Director of the Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation.
With this expansion, the foundation will provide services through its 9 different programs to over 115 additional foster youth. These services include their Grants for Kids Program, which provides for the unmet needs of foster youth and the items and experiences that contribute to a well-rounded childhood. Additionally, the foundation acquired a new Family Visitation Center in Cottonwood providing children in foster care a home-like environment for safe and supervised visitation with their biological families.
Yvonne Bartlett, the foundation’s Executive Director, stated, “We are proud to provide foster youth in the county with a wider range of services and options to meet their needs. This expansion will truly change the lives of many foster youth in our county.”
Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation is seeking community donations to help fund the expansion and volunteers who have extensive knowledge of and connections in the Verde Valley.
