Elevate Your Summer Camp Adventures With Embry-Riddle Programs

Online Registration is Now Open For 2023 Summer Camps!

If you are looking for an exciting camp adventure for your teen this summer, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has got you covered. With unique programs ranging from Aeronautics, Data Science, Forensics, Game Design, Cyber, Air Traffic Control, Rocketry and Drones, these summer program experiences are the perfect mix of in-class academics, hands-on learning and fun.

“As a parent myself I would be excited to send my teen to an Embry-Riddle camp… and be a bit jealous!”,” said Jenn Downing, Summer Programs Manager. “After taking a break during the pandemic, we are excited to be bringing back our most popular camp offerings and we have added several new programs that are sure to be a hit.”

As the world’s leading aviation and aeronautics university, Embry-Riddle has long been known for introducing students to the world of flight. Participants in the “Flight Exploration” camp can experience live flight training in beautiful Arizona, as well as log time on state-of-the art flight simulators. They will also learn about aviation-related topics such as air traffic management, night operations, cross country flying and more.

Or imagine solving a “crime” using the latest CSI forensic techniques. “Our Forensic Science Camp attendees will learn how to examine a crime scene and collect evidence (such as fingerprints, hair, DNA, chemical residues and blood),” said Dr. Zafer Hatahet, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

“They will analyze the evidence for relevant biological (DNA), chemical (illicit drugs), computer and financial information; and they will learn about the psychology involved in interrogation techniques, and how to testify in courts,” he said, “It’s fascinating, even for those who aren’t necessarily interested in pursuing forensic science as a career.”

Adults can even join in the fun with Take Flight, a four-day immersive discovery flight team experience. The program includes simulator and ground instruction, as well as hands-on flights including a one-day orientation flight, a cross country flight to a destination airport, and one night flight to the greater Phoenix area.

“Take Flight is a great way for a parent or guardian to learn alongside their student while creating lifelong memories,” said Downing. The Take Flight program is also open to younger children, starting at age 9 through 17.

Each week-long session will focus on a different subject. The summer programs curriculum is developed and taught by Embry-Riddle faculty, staff and instructor pilots. Students will be accompanied and supervised by approved staff and student coordinators throughout their program duration on campus.

For summer camps, students live in on-campus dormitories — under the supervision of approved ERAU staff and student coordinators — to experience University living with other young people near their age. The exception is the Take Flight experience in which participants stay off-campus.

Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Register early, as our programs fill up fast! Registration is now open!
