Having a well-designed property could increase the value of your Prescott home by thousands. This is reassuring news for Prescott residents as home profit margins in the city in the third quarter of 2022 dropped from 86.3% to 70.8%. To boost the value of your home as much as possible, the latest property design trends should be implemented. But what’s hot in property design trends right now and how should you work them into your home?
Storage & organization should take center stage
29% of people who rent a storage unit say they do so because there’s not enough storage in their home. Designing your home so that it has ample storage could add up to 30% to the value of your property. Open floor plan homes have dropped slightly in popularity in recent years, although some new homes being built in Prescott include this layout. If you no longer like your home’s layout, a shelving room divider is an on-trend and affordable way to break up the room. Plus, you’ll get lots of extra storage out of it.
Real estate agents think that mudrooms will rise in popularity again over the next year, even though Wayfair have said they’re no longer needed. Optimize storage space in yours by giving each family member a basket to dump dirty footwear and clothes in. You can then carry the baskets through to your laundry room ready for washing. Keeping dirty footwear clean is easy in a washing machine. Just make sure you remove the laces and insoles before washing. Stick with a low temperature and always air-dry the shoes for the best results. The shoes can then be placed in a clean storage drawer or basket ready to be re-worn.
Focus on the heart of the home
A kitchen remodel could see you get a return on investment (ROI) of between 50 and 60%, according to the USA Cabinet Store. Kitchen remodels are one of the most popular renovations completed by homeowners because the kitchen is one of the most used rooms in the home. Kitchen designer Caren Rideau says that 2023’s kitchen trends will include three things; unimposing hoods, open display cabinets, and functional pantries.
Rideau expects to see more kitchen hoods being boxed in and painted the same color as the rest of the room. Open cabinets will be used to display beautiful pieces of kitchen crockery. Meanwhile, pantries will be large enough to store small appliances that people don’t want cluttering up their countertops. Multiple new homes are ready to be built in Prescott Valley at the moment, including a large single-family home on Tyler Road. The kitchen is expected to be open-plan and connected to the Great Room and may feature some of Rideau’s newest trends.
Promote a work-life balance
Arizona is in the top third of states with people working from home. Due to this, one of the biggest home design trends is a large office space. People don’t want to be working from their dining tables or sofas anymore. This is why new build properties in Prescott, including some of the ones currently being built on Tyler Road, include a large home office. But to get the most value from your home, you need to incorporate wellness too. If you’re a remote worker, this gives you a chance to relax and get away from working life. An outdoor-inspired nook will encourage good mental health, as will an indoor garden, and a calming color palette.
As a Prescott homeowner, you can work to increase the value of your home by adding some of these trending designs to their properties. Not only will you reap the benefits financially, but you’ll also get to enjoy a happier and more comfortable home.
