Yavapai College has named Michael Tenette as Assistant Director of Athletics.
Tenette brings extensive athletic managerial experience to the YC Athletic Department. He has spent the last 14 years building successful championship programs throughout the greater Sacramento area in Northern California. He has served as Founder and President for highly effective AAU basketball and sports camp programs, as well as the Head Coach for various high school basketball and football contenders.
“I am very excited to welcome Michael to the Roughrider family. His energy and passion for the student-athletes and their success is contagious,” said Brad Clifford, YC Director of Athletics. “He brings organizational skills and experience that is going to enhance the athletic experience for the student-athlete and the Roughrider Nation.”
In addition to building winning sports programs, Tenette has developed and implemented new fundraising measures that led to a sustained resources increase of over 800% for his athletic camps over a five-year period through partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Chapman University, while continuing his personal and professional education through teacherships, industry education, coaching, and mentoring.
Yavapai College sponsors six National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) programs, including baseball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and e-sports. All six programs are set to compete in 2021-22.
