Slurry Seal Project Scheduled to Begin the Week of April 19, 2021

The Town of Chino Valley and their contractor, VSS International, are set to begin slurry seal operations as part of the FY 21 Slurry Seal Project. This work will begin the week of April 19, 2021.

The first stage of the project, which is wrapping up, consisted of crack sealing operations along designated roads throughout the Town. The second stage of the project includes the placement of a slurry seal treatment within the following neighborhoods:

  • Appaloosa Meadows 1 & 2
  • Bright Start
  • Highlands Ranch
  • Mesa View
  • Mollie Rae
  • Parkside Village

Prior to slurry seal operations beginning in each area, a detailed notification will be hand-delivered to those affected. The notification will feature information including the exact date, timeframe, and associated impacts of slurry seal operations.

Work will occur Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please be aware of temporary street closures, lane restrictions, reduced speeds, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zones. Access to residences will be maintained when possible. However, temporary restrictions will occur when slurry seal treatment is placed directly in front of a driveway entrance.

Please use caution when traveling in proximity to the work zone and heavy equipment. To minimize conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the Town asks that you avoid on-street parking while slurry seal operations are underway. No parking signage will be installed prior to slurry seal operations. Residents are advised to find alternative parking outside of the project work zone prior to work commencing, should you need to leave.

Once complete, this project will extend pavement life and improvement the ride quality for motorists. The project is scheduled to be complete May 7, 2021.
