On Friday July 24, 2020 at just before 6 am a cement truck traveling northbound on Highway 89 at the round-about of Deep Well Ranch Road rolled over onto the passenger side after the driver failed to negotiate the round-about. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and parts of the roadway and sidewalk were damaged by the vehicle. The driver, a 58 year old man from Humboldt, was not injured in the roll over and was the only occupant of the cement truck.
The scene was investigated by officers of our Traffic Safety Section who determined that speed was a factor in the crash and the driver was issued a civil citation. Highway 89 was closed to one lane northbound for about 2 hours while the investigation took place and the vehicle was removed from the roadway.
