Hot, dry forecast offers little hope for relief as wildfires rage

A half-dozen wildfires were burning close to 140,000 acres across Arizona Tuesday and growing, as heat, wind and drought conditions complicated firefighting efforts, officials said. The largest of the blazes, the Telegraph Fire near Superior, grew by 11,000 acres between Monday and Tuesday morning to more than 71,000 acres, and led to additional evacuation orders

Slate Fire grows to 100 acres, leads to closures along Hwy 180

The Slate Fire which began early this morning (Monday, 6/7) is located approximately 23 miles northwest of Flagstaff on the west side of U.S. Highway 180 and has grown to roughly 100 acres throughout the day.
