2011-12 Season Kicks Off This Week

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Arizona Sundogs were in Rapid City, South Dakota for a pair of preseason tune-ups against the Rush before starting their sixth Central Hockey League season on Friday at Tim’s Toyota Center.

The sixth season of Arizona Sundogs hockey begins on Friday against the Laredo Bucks. Arizona is coming off their first playoff appearance in three years, while the Bucks missed the postseason for the first time in their nine-year history. The Sundogs were eliminated in the opening round by Bossier-Shreveport in four games last season. This is the first contest of a five-game homestand for the Sundogs to begin the 2011-12 season.

Sundogs head coach Marco Pietroniro is one win away from the 150th of his career… The Sundogs return three of their top five scorers from last season in Kyle Hood (69 points), Luke Erickson (63 points), and Tyler Butler (46 points)… The Sundogs are 3-2-0 in season openers in franchise history.

With their sixth season in the Central Hockey League set to being tomorrow against the visiting Laredo Bucks, the Arizona Sundogs announced their opening night roster for the 2011-12 season.

The Sundogs host the Laredo Bucks on Friday and Saturday at Tim’s Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, AZ. Game time is 7:05 PM both nights.
