On a very cool and windy afternoon, the Prescott Badgers dropped an 8-5 decision to the Seton Catholic Sentinels. It was the third loss this week for the Badgers, who look to get back on the winning track next Tuesday when they travel to Flagstaff.
Like their game yesterday, the Badgers found themselves in a first inning hole. The Sentinels jumped out to a 4 run lead before the home team could come to bat. The Badgers did respond with a run in the bottom of the first, but the Sentinels went up 7-1 going to the bottom of the third. Prescott picked up a run, but surrendered it back in the top of the fourth.
The Badgers pulled a little closer with two runs in the fifth, eventually getting one more in their final at bats, but just could not put a string of hits together to produce the needed runs.
Makayla Reyes who pitched the entire game, striking out four, hit a solo home run. Bekah Norris had a perfect day at the plate, going 4-4, all singles, that produced an RBI. Fran Larson hit two doubles with an RBI. Danner Cozens scored twice, had a single and a double with one RBI.
The Badgers drop to (4-5) on the season, while Seton Catholic improved to (3-5).
