The Flagstaff Eagles remained undefeated in Grand Canyon Region play with a 54-36 win over the visiting Prescott Lady Badgers last night. Flagstaff outscored the Lady Badgers 9-0 from downtown, a 27 point advantage, with the end result an 18 point win.
Kira Reily and Hollie Dalton both had big games for the Lady Badgers. Reily lead all scorers with 18 points, plus pulled down 12 rebounds. Dalton scored 11, and had 10 rebounds.
Flagstaff (8-0), in Grand Canyon Region, and (16-5) overall. knocked down at least one three point shot in each of the four quarters, using three of the nine in th game to build a 13-7 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Badgers were able to play a much even quarter in the second, but trailed 26-18 at the half. Despite playing an even quarter in the third, Prescott had the game get out of reach in the final minutes. The Lady Badgers failed to capitalize on their free throw opportunities, shooting only 28%, making 4 of 14.
Prescott coach Bobbi Yoder said, "Much better effort and execution of our game plan tonight and we were able to keep it closer. I'm happy with our performance tonight, we still need to clean up a few things but good night overall."
Prescott (4-4) Grand Canyon Region and (9-13) overall, gets a return trip to Flagstaff on Friday, this time facing the Coconino Panthers, who the Lady Badgers beat on their home court on December 17, thanks to a last second shot by Ebony Porter.
