The Flagstaff Eagles dropped in 11 three pointers, five of them by senior Troy Yazzie, to beat the Prescott Badgers 71-45, in the Badger Dome last night.

The Eagles came out firing shots and made a good amount of them, building a 16-2 lead midway through the opening quarter. The Badgers after a timeout, came to life on the offensive end. Collin Hicks fired in a three pointer to cut the Flagstaff lead to 19-9 at the end of the first quarter.

Once again the Eagles used an aggressive approach, and made some three pointers to extend their lead to 27-10 with 5:11 to play in the second quarter.

The Badgers were able to finish the half by outscoring the Eagles 14-11 for the final minutes of the half on baskets by Hicks, Parent, and Schwartz.

As the final seconds of the first half came to an end Korey Schwartz nailed a three pointer to cut the deficit to 38-24.

McKenna dropped in a three and it was 38-27. A Matt Lopez three pulled PHS within 41-30, but that would be as close as the game would get. The Eagles went on a 9-0 run to lead 50-30 with 4:37 in the third. Flagstaff kept pushing the tempo and got second and third chances to add points, which they did, leading 59-35 after three quarters. The largest deficit of the night came with just over three minutes to play at 68-37. The Badgers outscored the Eagles 8-3 to end the game.

Prescott (0-1) in Grand Canyon Region, and (3-5) will host Tempe on Friday at 7pm.

The Flagstaff Eagles beat the Prescott Lady Badgers 53-19 at the Badger Dome last night.

The Eagles opened up the game with a 17 point run, leaving the Badgers to try and play catchup. Flagstaff would have nothing to do with that, as the Eagles aggressive play continued to extend their lead, leading 31-13 at the break.

Things did not improve for Prescott in the second half. The Eagles lead kept growing and they lead 42-13 after three quarters.

Hollie Dalton led the Lady Badgers with 12 points, with 10 of those points coming in the first half.  The Lady Badgers (0-1) in Grand Canyon Region play, and (3-5) overall, will play at Tempe, Friday night at 7pm.
