Kira Reily leads Prescott with 19 points, Hollie Dalton drops in 18, Kendall Crockett 12

After six games away to start the season, the Prescott Lady Badgers faced the Deer Valley Skyhawks in the Badger Dome Friday night. Perhaps the Lady Badgers just needed some home cooking, as they only averaged 26 points a game in their first six contests. Prescott had 31 at the half in this one.

Prescott coach Bobbi Yoder said, "We were able to push the tempo when we wanted to and slow it down too. The girls were patient on offense and took care of the ball."

Badgers led 2-0, and the lead grew to 11-3 on a Hollie Dalton layup with 2:05 remaining in the opening quarter. The inside battles by sophomore Kira Reily really helped the Lady Badgers maintain some control inside the paint. Dalton knocked down a mid range jumper to give the Lady Badgers their first double digit lead at 17-7 with 7:15 left in the second quarter. Kendall Crockett's layup bumped the lead to 21-10 midway through the second quarter.

A mini run by the Lady Skyhawks whittled the lead down to 23-15. A number of missed free throws by Prescott let Deer Valley stay n the game. A jumper by Hollie Dalton from the top of the key bumped the lead back to double digits 25-15. The Lady Badgers led 31-15 at the half.

Prescott continued to outscore the Skyhawks to lead 41-23 after three quarters as Reily, Dalton, and Crockett kept adding to their point totals.

Coach Bobbi Yoder said, "We have had a rough start to the season coming into tonight. Deer Valley is a decent team and big. We didn't really match up with them that well size wise, but I felt we had the speed advantage."

Deer Valley dropped to (0-2), while the Lady Badgers (3-4) on the season, will host Flagstaff on Tuesday, December 4, at 5:30pm.
