After a big extra innings win Thursday at Bradshaw Mountain, the Prescott Badgers came right back duplicating their output of runs, in a 17-7 win over the Thunderbird Chiefs, at Prescott High School.
Prescott was led by Danner Cozens and Francesca Larson, who each had four hits. Cozens had a single, three doubles, scored three times, and had three RBIs. Larson had two singles, two doubles, scored three runs, and had four RBIs.
The Badgers jumped on top 3-0 in the second inning, but the Chiefs got to Francesca Larson in the third inning for seven runs. Only two of those runs were earned, with Badger errors contributing to the bad inning. Trailing 7-3, Prescott came back with three in the top of the fourth to get within one, at 7-6.
McKynzie Hyslip, who pitched the first two innings, came back into pitch the final three innings, shutting down the Chiefs and earning the win. The Badgers picked up five in the top of the fifith to take a 11-7 lead. Another quick inning by the Chiefs, put Prescott back at the plate for a six run explosion, that ended the game due to the ten run rule. Hyslip put up five goose egg innings, while striking out six in the game.
Prescott also had offensive production from Alexis Ingram, who had a single, and two doubles, and scored three times. McKynzie Hyslip knocked in two runs with a single and a double. Rebekah Norris had a double, with three RBIs. Hannah Hasvold scored twice, and had two singles, a walk, was hit by a pitch, and an RBI. Makayla Reyes scored three times, and had two singles, and a walk.
The Badgers improve to (6-14), and will host Mohave on Tuesday, in their final regular season home game. First pitch is at 4:00pm.
