Kody Jones was all business on the hill, while holding rival Bradshaw Mountain to only one hit, in a 10-0 win over the Bears, in Prescott Valley. The only hit allowed by Jones, of his 83 pitches thrown, came from on a Paxton Prentice double.
Bears starting pitcher Paxton Prentice shutout the Prescott lineup through the first three innings, but in the fourth the Badgers got to the sophomore hurler. The Badgers took a 4-0 lead, with the help of three fielding errors by Bradshaw Mountain. Bears' relievers, Jacob Roberts and Bailey Ramirez followed Prentice, each tossing an inning, with Roberts allowing four runs, three earned, and Ramirez allowing two earned runs.
Meanwhile for the Badgers, Kody Jones was in control throughout the contest, striking out eight and allowing no walks. At the plate, Brance Christopherson had a pair of singles, that knocked in four runs. Jacob Police had three hits with two RBIs. Luke Fredrick and Jake Schulz each had a pair of singles, that produced RBIs. Korey Schwartz had an RBI single. Kody Jones was the only Badger to have an extra base hit, a double, in which he later scored.
Prescott (3-4) in league, and (10-13) overall, will host Bradshaw Mountain (3-8) and (4-10), tomorrow at 3:30pm in the rivalry rematch.
