Badgers Get Much Needed Win At Lee Williams 9-4

Prescott explodes for eight runs in the sixth inning                                                                                   

The Prescott Badger Ladies picked up their first Grand Canyon Region win by exploding for eight runs in the sixth inning, breaking a 1-1 tie to beat Lee Williams Volunteers 9-4 in Kingman yesterday afternoon.

McKynzie Hyslip struck out nine, while yielding four runs and five hits, in winning her complete game effort.

The Volunteers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Badgers were able to tie the game at one in the top of the fifth.

Prescott broke the game open with an eight run sixth, capped off by a McKynzie Hyslip three RBI triple. Tessa Eppele had two singles and an RBI. Rebekah Norris had an RBI single. Danner Cozens had a two RBI single. Alexis Ingram produced two singles. Dana Seavey and Makayla Reyes both had a walk and a single.

Lee Williams trailed 9-1 after the big Badger inning, but managed to get a run across in the bottom of the sixth, and two more in their final at bat.

Prescott improves to (1-4) in the Grand Canyon Region, and (3-10) overall. Lee Williams falls to (0-7) and (6-15).

The two teams will meet again tomorrow, this time at Prescott High School. Game time is 3:45pm. Today, the Badgers travel to Peoria to take on Sunrise Mountain, at 3:45pm.
