Prescott held to a single run

After scoring 25 runs at Coronado on Tuesday, the Prescott Badgers managed only one run in a 6-1 loss at home to the Flagstaff Eagles.

The Eagles took a four run lead in the second, capped off by a homerun by Stephen Canizales.

The Badgers lone run came when pinch runner Ryan Hollaway scored from third base when Brance Christopherson got caught in a rundown between first and second.

Kody Jones battled hard on the mound, but the Eagles hit the ball and did what they had to do to win. Jones went five innings, gave up three earned runs, six hits, while striking out five and walking two. Jake Schulz and Erubiel Franco each pitched an inning. Schulz threw a scoreless frame while Franco gave up one run.

Prescott had an opportunity to get some runs in the 4th, but a close call at first ended the inning with runners at second and third.

The Eagles got a big offensive game by Rylan DeBosh, who had a double, a triple with two RBIs. The Badgers scattered four hits with Brance Christopherson, Joey Christopherson,  and Jacob Police, each with a single. Kody Jones hit a rocket to the deepest part of the ball park, that was a double.

Flagstaff is (3-0) in the Grand Canyon Region. The Eagles even their record at 4-4) overall, after dropping their first four games. The Badgers fall to (0-1) and (3-5).
