PHS Swim Team Ends Regular Season

Temple goes out in style!


A packed house at the Prescott YMCA saw the final regular season swim meet this year. The Badgers boys took second and the girls finished third in the tri-meet yesterday. Boulder Creek won both the boys and girls sides. O'Connor took third in the boys, and second in the girls.

Senior Grant Temple shined for the Badgers in his two individual events. He won the 100 backstroke in 59.29 seconds and the butterfly in 53.8 seconds. In team competition, Temple led the 200 free relay team, along with Billy Barlow, Ali Mahmoud, and Jaxton Peterson. He also rallied the 400 free relay in a come from behind win which included Barlow, Peterson, and Max Tipton. Barlow finished second in the 100 backsroke and Mahmoud scored his personal best in the 100 breaststroke.

The Badger girls were led by Toko Miller, who placed second in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 free relay team of McKenzie Lain, Meghan Lain, Zoe Cahill and Miller finished second as well.

Prescott will send four participants to the state meet in Mesa on November 8 and 9. They are Temple, Barlow, Peterson , and Miller.

Temple, who is currently ranked second in Division 2, will compete in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke. Barlow, will compete in the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly, and Peterson will compete in the 100 butterfly and 100 freestroke.  Miller, the lone Badger girl, will compete in the 100 breaststroke, the 200 free relay, 200 individual medley.
