On Homecoming night, it took just three minutes and sixteen seconds before the Prescott Badgers scored their first touchdown and extra point, making the score 7-0. And that was only the beginning of the game that had the Badgers scoring four touchdowns in the first half against the Apollo Hawks from Glendale.
The Badgers defense did an excellent job throughout the game, rarely allowing any first downs, and preventing the Hawks from scoring until late in the the 3rd quarter, and even then only once throughout the entire game. With a little more than 5 minutes to go in the third quarter, Keith Knudsen made an awesome reception and ran the ball in for the only Badger touchdown in the second half, bringing the score to 35 - 7.
This victory was an entire team effort, with stellar performances put in by Chris Shipp, Matt Tirrell, Keith Knudsen and Jake Jarvis, to name just a few.
It was more than just a night for football, however, as the Badgers also celebrated the culmination of Homecoming week, inviting players and cheerleaders from Prescott Youth Football to join in the festivities. Cute miniature cheerleaders stood amongst Prescott's very talented cheer and song leaders. Small football players roamed the stands wearing blue and gold jerseys, showing their support for the Badger team.
During halftime, Marci King and Isaac Chavez were crowned as the 2007 Homecoming Queen and King.
