Victory - Tantalizingly Close, But Elusive Once Again

22 September 2007
Despite the grittiness of the effort, the Badgers were unable to capture their first victory of the season last night, as they played Millenium's purple and black Tigers, in Goodyear.

The Badgers actually lead for most of the game, with a score of 7-0, but in the fourth quarter, with less than 5 minutes to go, an opportunity for the Prescott team to score was lost, and that seemed to change the momemtum. The Tigers scored during that next possession, and after that, took control of the game.

At the end of the game, with the score tied 7-7, the Tigers had the ball down on their goal line. With the clock ticking away madly, it appeared as if the two teams were headed into overtime, but with 1/2 of a second left - yes, that's .5 seconds, folks - the Tigers took a timeout, and regrouped to kick a field goal.

The final score was 10-7, with the Tigers squeaking out the victory at the very end.
