You won’t be able to access historic Route 66 in the town of Seligman starting today. The closure at Exit 121 is necessary for a more than 4 million dollar bridge project. ADOT crews will replace decks on 3 bridges that are between 40 and 50 years old. The current decks need heavy maintenance. The second I-40 exit, located about 60 miles from Flagstaff will remain open. The project includes replacing deck portions of the 3 bridges, removing and replacing guardrails as needed and reconstructing 40 feet of road on either side of the bridges. This project is scheduled to be completed next May. Meanwhile, on Willow Creek Road in Prescott, crews have completed installation of new concrete from Mitchell to Willow Lake Roads. As of last night, asphalt paving has started in that same area. Work will occur throughout all times of the day, but traffic control will be adjusted to accommodate rush hour traffic.

I-17 will also be narrowed to 1 lane in each direction from near Black Canyon City to Bloody Basin Road. This work is scheduled to run from 9 pm to 5 am tonight through Thursday night.
