Featured

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Yavapai County Roadwork starts today.

Watch for delays as work on Yavapai County roads gets underway today.  Asphalt Paving and Supply will be performing road construction on Merrill and O’Neal Drives in Williamson Valley, Ramada Drive in Diamond Valley and School House Gulch Road in Groom Creek.  Construction includes the overlaying of the existing asphalt with new hot mix asphalt and shoulder work.  Work hours are 7 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday through June 21st.  Fann Contracting is performing safety improvements on Williamson Valley Road at its intersections with Granite Oaks and Buchanan Drives and Blackjack Ridge and Outer Loop Roads.  Shoulders are being widened to accommodate a center turn lane and increase the lengths of the turn lanes and acceleration and deceleration lanes.  Work hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 7 pm through June 28th.  Copperstate Paving and Construction is performing removal of existing soils, drainage and culvert work and placement of hot mix asphalt on Granite Gardens and Lake Fork Roads in the Granite Dells area.  Work hours are 7 am to 5:30 pm through June 25th.

Needed - better Post Office

Town of Prescott Valley officials are seeking a partnership with the U.S. Postal Service.  A letter written by Mayor Harvey Skoog states the current Post Office on Highway 69 doesn’t adequately serve the needs of the largest and fastest growing community in Yavapai County. Skoog says Town of Prescott Valley officials have been receiving complaints about the Post Office. In the letter to area Postmaster Matthew Mills, Town officials are requesting a written strategy accompanied with a timeline to ensure residents are served properly by the local Post Office.
