It might rain on Saturday evening.
Northern Arizona could see some rain over the weekend. The Prescott area will see dry weather through tomorrow, but deeper moisture moving into the region will likely bring a round of precipitation late Saturday into Sunday. Mark Stubblefield with the National Weather Service in Flagstaff says this will be a fairly warm storm system. Stubblefield calls the storm a fairly good rain maker. Even if there won’t be much moisture, Stubblefield says it all helps a bit with the ongoing drought.
5 Stars for Good Sam Society
The Good Samaritan Society of Prescott Valley has received a 5 star rating. At the end of last month, the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid gave the nursing home the new rating, which is up from their previous 4 star rating. CMS has created the 5 star rating system to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas of special interest. Nursing homes with 5 stars are considered to have above average quality facilities and services. The Good Samaritan Society of Prescott Valley has been open since 1987, offering 58 skilled nursing beds and 28 senior living apartments with services.
Zoning Map Change Under Consideration
The Prescott Valley Town Council meets at 5:30 tonight to consider a zoning map change on 210 acres of Town owned property. The property is located on Glassford Hill near Race Track Wash. The change is from Commercial, Industrial and Residential uses to Public Lands usage. According to Community Development Director Richard Parker, the Glassford Hill Coordination Plan, prepared in 2001 by a citizens advisory committee, has designated an 18 hundred acre area between Watson Lake and Prescott Valley to be the Glassford Hill Preserve. The plan allows public access and uses in the Preserve that are compatible with the existing grazing and conservation activities. The Public Lands zoning district provides for a wide variety of public uses such as these. The Town Council meeting will be held in the Library Auditorium on Civic Circle.
