Bill's Newscast: Winter Storm on the Way?

17 January 2018

Possible precipitation this weekend.

New water pump station

Watch for delays in the Pioneer Parkway and Willow Creek Road area due to construction of a new water pump station.  The City of Prescott and contractor Schofield Civil Construction are working on this utility upgrade project.  Once installed, the new pump station will give the water operations department the ability to divert water through multiple zones, ultimately improving system reliability for all users.  In addition to this work, crews are also installing fencing and placing gravel throughout the project site and working on a new catch basin at the corner of North Honeysuckle Road and East Morning Glory Lane.  Work hours are today and tomorrow from 7 am to 6 pm.  This project is scheduled for completion later this year.

Winter storm on the way?!

With a winter storm expected to hit the area this weekend, ADOT is recommending you put off driving if snow starts falling.  ADOT officials say snow can be especially heavy in certain areas that can make driving an even greater challenge in winter weather.  One example is Ash Fork Hill on I-40 between Highway 89 and Williams.  Slide-offs and crashes on highways slick with snow and ice can cause more work for first responders and increase traffic backups.  These accidents also make it more difficult and time consuming for ADOT snowplows to clear roadways.  When driving on a slick roadway, slow down in order to leave plenty of room between your vehicle and the one ahead, avoiding sudden braking that can result in a skid.  More winter driving tips are available at
