Bill's Newscast: Crack Sealing Resumes

26 December 2017

Holidays, schedule adjustments and roadwork.

Road maintenance continues.

Now that the Christmas holiday is over, it’s back to work for City of Prescott Street Maintenance crews. Crews are scheduled to apply crack seal to the pavement on Whipple Street between Merritt Street and Willow Creek Road, and on Williamson Walley Road from Iron Springs to Shadow Valley Ranch Road starting today. Work hours are 3:30 am to 12:30 pm. Meanwhile, construction on the Rosser Street reconstruction project is scheduled to get started early next year. City Council has approved a 2.5 million dollar contract with Asphalt Paving and Supply for this project, which will include reconstruction of Rosser with new asphalt pavement and replacement of concrete flatwork that has been found to be defective. The project limits are from Campbell Avenue to the boundary of the Meadows at Eagle Ridge subdivision.

Solid waste collection schedule adjusted.

Due to the Christmas holiday, the City of Prescott’s solid waste collection is on an adjusted schedule. Since there was no collection yesterday, Monday’s trash and recycle routes have been bumped to today. Today’s trash and recycle routes will be collected tomorrow, and Wednesday and Thursday’s routes will be collected Thursday. Friday is on a normal schedule. For commercial customers, yesterday’s and today’s trash routes and yesterday’s recycle routes are being collected today, with the remainder of today’s trash being collected tomorrow along with the regular Wednesday schedule. Thursday’s trash and Friday’s trash and recyclables will be on regular schedules. City of Prescott officials are reminding all customers to have all material placed inside the trash and recycling containers for collection. The operators are unable to load additional material that’s placed outside these containers.
