Road construction continues in Yavapai County.

Yavapai College to Recognize Verde Valley Board Advisory Committee

The Yavapai College District Governing Board meets at 1 tomorrow afternoon to recognize members of the Verde Valley Board Advisory Committee. The Committee was established 2 years ago to provide a voice between Verde Valley residents and the Yavapai College Governing Board. Last month, the Board voted to suspend the Committee by a 3 to 2 vote. The Board will also hear a presentation about the Verde Valley Forum for Public Affairs’ event, “The Role of Post-Secondary Education in the future of the Verde Valley Region.” This presentation took place in Camp Verde on September 9th and 10th. There were 4 community outreach sessions that were held following this event. A theme that has been identified is the need for identification and better utilization of resources available to enhance and sustain post-secondary education in the region. The Yavapai College Governing Board meeting will be held at the Sedona Center on Arts Village Drive.

Roundabout Construction

Watch for delays on Highway 260 in the Verde Valley due to roundabout construction. ADOT crews are starting construction today on the Highway 260 roundabout at Industrial Drive in Camp Verde. Lane and travel restrictions will be in place 24 hours a day and will be maintained until late February of next year. A 10 foot wide load restriction will also be in place during operations. The roundabout will keep traffic flowing smoothly in all directions as well as in and out of businesses. Currently traffic on Industrial Drive can only make right turns onto 260, while those on the highway can wait in long left turn bays to get to businesses or to turn around. This project also includes sidewalks on the north side of 260 between Cliffs Parkway and Main Street, and on the south side between 7th and Main Streets.
