Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic Host Rep Quang Nguyen and Corporation Commission Candidate Rachel Walden

The local chapter of Yavapai County’s Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic (ConCR) has announced that Representative Quang Nguyen (LD1 – R),  and Arizona Corporation Commission Candidate Rachel Walden, will speak at their upcoming meeting this Saturday,  August 26th,  in Chino Valley. The meeting is free and open to the public but seating is limited.  Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP.

Rep. Nguyen was first elected as one of LD1’s two state legislators in 2020. He is now in his second term and has announced his candidacy for a third term in 2024.  He serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and is a member of the Committees on Education, Appropriations and Military Affairs. He is a stalwart supporter of Second Amendment rights and has gained widespread attention for introducing legislation mandating  the death penalty for fentanyl distribution when it  results in a  death by overdose.  More recently,  along with his LD1 colleague Rep. Selina Bliss, he has challenged the City of Phoenix’s effort to donate confiscated guns to the Ukraine war  effort. Rep Nguyen has also been credited with securing a $15M  earmark in the state budget for Prescott Frontiers Days to upgrade  the Prescott rodeo grounds. That allocation is now in litigation for allegedly violating the Arizona Constitution’s gift clause. As a result of the lawsuit,  the parties have stipulated that the funds will not be released until legal challenges are resolved.  However,  Rep. Nguyen remains committed to the state grant and has stated that he expects the legality of the allocation to be upheld by the courts.  Rep. Nguyen is expected to discuss his legislative priorities for the 2024 session,  and, if time permits, stand for questions.

Rachel Walden is a  candidate for the Arizona Corporation Commission. She is currently a member of the Mesa Unified School District Governing  Board which oversees the largest school district in Arizona. While on the Board she has earned a reputation as a staunch conservative who has prioritized parental rights, higher academic standards,  fiscal responsibility and transparency.  She is a Republican activist who serves as a Precinct and State Committeeman for LD10.  She will discuss her candidacy for the Corporation Commission and her priorities, if elected.

The Yavapai Chapter of Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic is a group of conservative activists dedicated to defending and promoting the values of representative government as set forth in the United States Constitution.  They are a private organization and not directly affiliated with any political party.  However, most members are registered Republicans or conservative leaning independents who are civically engaged or are current or former elected officials or candidates for office.

ConCR meets monthly at the Bible Baptist Church, 3490 N State Road 89, in Chino Valley.  Recent speakers include Congressmen Paul Gosar,  Andy Biggs, Eli Crane,  State Senator Wendy Rogers,  Sheriff David Rhodes,  former Arizona State Representative Liz Harris,  and many other prominent conservative figures and candidates for office.

ConCR is a membership organization.  However,  in the interest of informing voters about important issues and candidates,  the appearances of guest speakers of high public interest are open to the public. All those wishing to meet Rep. Nguyen and candidate Rachel Walden are cordially invited to attend. Doors open at 10:45AM. The meeting will begin promptly at 11: 15AM. RSVP’s are requested and should be addressed to concr2018@gmail.com.
