Rodeo Gets New Leader in Barrel Racing – Ron Williams

Last night at the World’s Oldest Rodeo in Prescott, fans saw a new leader in Barrel Racing and a bareback Rider move into second place. Prior to that, it was First Responder Night, with a brief ceremony to acknowledge all of those who put their lives on the line for everyone.

Tara Seaton of Winslow, Arizona flew last night to the fastest time of 17.27 seconds in Barrel Racing. The time was good enough to propel her into the top spot as well after two rounds with a combined time of 34.81 seconds. Doskie Edwards of Casa Grande, Arizona has a 34.84, and Prescott’s Sarah Kieckhefer is third with 35.01.

Team Roping saw a new leader when Cody Snow of Los Olivos, California and Jade Corkill of Fallon, Nevada came up with a 12.8 second run, overtaking the previous leaders of  Kaleb Driggers from Hoboken, Georgia and Junior Nogueira of Presidente Prude, Brazil, who have a 13.3. Tanner Tomlinson of Angleton, Texas and Patrick Smith Lipan, Texas are a tick behind in third with a 13.4.

Bareback Riding saw Tanner Aus of Granite Falls, Minnesota moved into second place with an 87.5 score for his ride on Sunday night. Cole Reiner of Buffalo, Wyoming remains in the top spot at 88.5. Richard Champion and Clayton Biglow are tied for third with an 87.

Saddle Bronc Riding saw no change in the top three as Brody Cress Hillsdale, WY remained in the top spot with a score of 88. Stu Wright of Coalville, Utah is second with an 86.5, and third is Brandon Lansford of Cotulla, Texas with an 85.5.

There was also no change in the Bull Riding Standings, Tristin Parker of Winnie, Texas remains the man to beat with a score 90.5. Second is Justin Rickard of Hemet, CA with an 88.5, and third is Tristen Hutchings of Monteview, Idaho with an 84.

Tie-Down Roping also saw no change with the top three remaining the same. Cory Solomon of Prairie View, TX has the best time of 18.3 seconds. Macon Murphy of Keatchie, Louisiana is second with an 18.8, followed by Hayden Ford of Whitehouse, Texas, with an 18.9.

Steer Wrestling’s top three remained the same with the leader Tyler Waguespack Gonzales, Louisiana with a time of 9.4 seconds. Second is Wyatt Lindsay Las Cruces, New Mexico with a 10.7, and third is Tristan Martin of Sulphur, Louisiana at 10.9.

Breakaway Roping saw no change as well in the top three which is led by Shelby Boisjoli of Stephenville, Texas with a two round time of just 5.7 seconds. Ashley Goforth of Azie, Texas is second at 7.0, and Shawnee Sherwood of San Tan Valley, Arizona has a time of 7.2.

The Rodeo wraps up on the Fourth of July with a 1:30pm matinee.
