Local 5K and Halloween Festival Raises Nearly $20,000 for Foster Children – Yavapai Casa for Kids Foundation

Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation is thrilled to announce the historic success of the 8th Annual Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run and Halloween Festival that took place over the weekend.

Last Saturday, laughter, amusement, challenge, and the spirit of togetherness filled the Prescott Courthouse Plaza as over 150 runners participated in the Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run which benefited local foster youth. The event featured costume contests, music by Fly by Night Entertainment, dancing, games, prizes, free drinks from Pepsi and Starbucks, free food from the Grumpy Sicilian, and a challenging 5K and 1-mile option.

According to Mona Stephens, the Foundation’s Development Director, “despite the slightly smaller turnout this year, this year’s 5K was filled with historic firsts, including raising more funds than in any other year.”

The event brought in a total of $19,551 between donations, sponsorships, and participation fees. These funds will go towards the Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation’s programs that help support the needs of over 300 children in foster care in the county.

Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation would like to express deep appreciation to sponsors of the 5K: AmTrust Bank, Tibi Family, Coca-Cola, Loomis Fire Control, Fann Contracting, Iconic Automotive, Dr. Bobby Raber DMD, TC Carpet Care, One AZ Credit Union, Granite Innovations, Yavapai Pediatrics, Premier Eye Center, Slater & Rutherford CPA, WCI Brokers, Toyful, Staples, Allegra, Eagle Lady Design Studio, The Prescott Times, and Rox Media. Their generous support played a significant role in the event’s success.

The 8th Annual Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run and Halloween Festival was not just about fun but also about supporting the area’s most vulnerable youth. The Foundation is immensely grateful for the community’s unity and generosity in making a real difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
