Iron Springs Trailhead Access Improvement and Temporary Closure January 29 – 30 – Prescott National Forest

The Yavapai County Public Works Department will be improving public access to the Iron Springs Trailhead on the Bradshaw Ranger District for two days next week.  The work will consist of improving/replacing the deteriorated paved apron that provides access to the trailhead from Iron Springs Road.  This will improve access and roadway safety for recreationists and motorists.  Work will begin Monday, January 29 and finish on Tuesday, January 30 if no unexpected delays are encountered.  The trailhead will be closed to the public while these improvements occur.  Trail users should plan accordingly and look for alternate trail recreation opportunities.  It is critical that trail users refrain from parking anywhere along roadways adjacent to the trailhead during the construction timeline to ensure the safety for themselves and motorists on Iron Springs roadway.

The Forest Service commends Yavapai County for supporting and improving recreation infrastructure, building upon our strong partnership for providing safe recreational access for the publics we both serve.

The Iron Springs Trailhead is located approximately 6 miles west of Prescott along Iron Springs Road. The trailhead provides trail access to the Spence Basin Trail System and the 54-mile-long Prescott Circle Trail.

Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements to provide better access to our public lands.
