Hints from someone who has been there:
1. Wear comfortable shoes. You will stand in line for hours and hours. You might not even get a seat inside. Also, wear a hat and bring sunscreen and lip balm.
2. You can't bring food inside, but you can bring an ice chest and leave it in your car. Bring enough for beverages and snacks before the event and also AFTER the event - it can easily take two hours to get your car out of the parking lot.
3. If you have a clear bag instead of a purse or backpack, it will make things a lot easier. You will have to go through strict security. You will also need your driver's license or other ID.
4. Wear red or something patriotic if you can.
5. Enjoy yourself!
