Ken Bennett to speak for the ConCR organization.

The local chapter of Yavapai County’s Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic (ConCR) has announced that former Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett, will speak at their upcoming meeting Saturday,  September 28, 2019,  11am, at the VFW in Prescott Valley.   Mr. Bennett served as Arizona’s 19th Secretary of State from 2009 to 2015.   He previously  served  in the Arizona State Senate and as President from 2003 to 2007.  In 2018 he was an unsuccessful candidate for Governor  but he continues to be active in civic and political affairs.  Mr. Bennett began his career in Prescott when he was elected to the Prescott City Council at the age of 26.   He  and his family have deep ties to the Prescott area where he retains a  strong  base among conservative voters.

The Yavapai  County chapter of  Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic is a group of conservative activists dedicated to defending and promoting the values of representative government set forth in the United States Constitution.  The group is a private organization and is not directly affiliated with any political party.  However, most members are registered Republicans or conservative leaning Independents who are civically engaged or are current or former elected officials or candidates for office.

The group meets monthly at 11am at the VFW in Prescott Valley.  Recent speakers include Arizona GOP Chair Dr. Kelli Ward,  Congressman Paul Gosar (CD4),  Congressman Andy Biggs (CD5), and former Arizona Senate President, Russell Pearce.  ConCR is a membership organization.  However, given the stature and political background of Mr. Bennett,  his talk has been opened to the general public.  Admission is free but seating is limited and an RSVP is requested.  The VFW  is located at 2375 N 5th Street, Prescott Valley.

Mr. Bennett will share his thoughts on the current political climate in Arizona.  He will also discuss his proposals for improving Arizona’s  troubled Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS)  which is currently less than 50% funded.  Mr. Bennet has developed specific proposals for improving returns, including transferring management of  PSPRS assets to the Arizona Treasurer’s Office, which  historically has achieved better investment returns at lower cost than the PSPRS Board.

ConCR President Jim Dutton invites “solid conservatives looking for an organization that reflects their values”  to attend Saturday’s meeting.  Please RSVP to  concr2018@gmail.com
