Congressman Andy Biggs to Speak in Prescott

24 July 2019   Jim Dutton, Chairman, Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic

Representative Andy Biggs will be in Prescott on Saturday.

The local chapter of Yavapai County’s Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic (ConCR) has announced that Congressman Andy Biggs, who serves Arizona’s 5th Congressional District, will speak at their upcoming meeting Saturday, July 27th, 11am at the VFW in Prescott Valley. The Yavapai County chapter of Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic is a group of conservative activists dedicated to defending and promoting the values of representative government set forth in the United States Constitution. The group is a private organization and is not directly affiliated with any political party. However, most members are registered Republicans who are politically active as Precinct Committeeman or as current or former elected officials.

The group meets monthly at 11am at the VFW in Prescott Valley. Recent Speakers include Arizona GOP Chair, Dr. Kelli Ward, Congressman Paul Gosar, (CD4), and former State Senator Russell Pearce. ConCR is a membership organization. However, given Congressman Bigg’s status as a leading spokesman for conservative principles in the United States Congress, his talk has been opened to the general public. Seating is limited and an RSVP is required. The VFW is located at 2375 N. 5th Street, Prescott Valley.

Congressman Biggs was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2017, after many years of leadership in the Arizona State House and Senate. His East Valley district encompassing Mesa, Gilbert and Chandler, is considered a Republican stronghold. From 2003 to 2011, he served the 12th District in the Arizona House of Representatives. In 2011 he was elected to the State Senate and served as Senate President from 2013 until his election to Congress in 2017. As a member of the Freedom Caucus and the Congressional Western Caucus, he is widely known as one of the most conservative members of Congress. He is currently a member of the House Judiciary Committee and the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security.

In the current 116th Congress he has sponsored bills opposing abortion, ending Common Core and promoting school choice, and is the author of HR 85, known as the Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act.

ConCR President Jim Dutton invites “solid conservatives looking for an organization to channel their energies” to attend Saturday’s meeting and meet Congressman Biggs. Please RSVP to
