Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Billie Orr filed her nominating petitions to qualify for the August 2019 Primary for re-election for Prescott City Council. The term is for four years. Although only 858 signatures are required to qualify as a candidate, Billie presented 1534 signatures to the City election office. “I am so grateful to everyone who signed my petitions and my many volunteers who helped to gather signatures as well. Now that this process is done, I look forward to campaigning for the Primary,” stated Orr.
Orr has been involved in many City projects since her election in 2015, including being instrumental in the passed Prop 443 initiative, which is helping to stabilize the City’s General Fund. “It’s been an honor to work with the citizens of Prescott and make our City more financially stable and prosperous. I’m proud to represent the City as Mayor Pro Tem and Councilwoman and am excited to continue my commitment to Prescott. We are facing many upcoming decisions that are very important to our citizens, including annexation of the Dells and I understand the concerns and feel I am the best candidate to help continue the negotiations to get a win-win for Prescott,” Orr added.
