Granite Creek Vineyards is a local, family owned vineyard and winery right in our own backyard. Whether you are a wine lover, a foodie, or just enjoy listening to music in a park-like setting, Granite Creek Vineyards in Chino Valley is a rewarding visit.
Founded in 1974 by its current owners, Robin and Kit Hoult, on 20 acres of one of the original homesteads in Chino Valley, this local winery has developed a loyal following. Featuring some of the original buildings from the old farmstead, many locals know it as a picturesque setting for weddings and special events.
With both inside tasting rooms and outside tables, it also serves as a wonderful retreat for the general public on any afternoon, Thursday thru Sunday.
The winery features certified organic wines grown with well water on the rich granite soil of Chino Valley. The area’s high elevation with sunny, hot days and cool nights have proven to be ideal growing conditions for several varietals. The current menu features five wines for tasting, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, a Red Blend of Petite Syrah and Malbec, and an old vine Concord Port. The food menu (subject to change) currently includes smoked salmon cakes, a pork loin BLT, roasted chicken salad, Jalapeno-Lime Hummus and a generous cheese plate. Desserts are also available. A wine tasting is $10, entrees range from $12 to $15.
The weekend of May 11-12th marks one of the vineyards’ signature events of the year, a Mother’s Day Wine and Art Festival. A new wine release is promised and live music with local artists will be featured both Saturday and Sunday. No reservations are needed.
Trip Advisor rates Granite Creek Vineyards 21 out of 42 Arizona wineries, and over 6000 Facebook likes award it 4.8 out of 5. Based on a recent visit, this lovely local venue for wine, food and music has earned its fine reputation.
