Scam Phone Texts Targeting Latino Community
Featured

Threatening texts are being sent to members of the Latino community

The Prescott Valley Police Department has become aware of unknown suspects texting threatening messages to members of the Latino community seeking to scam money from them. The texts also include short clips of violent videos.

Should you receive such texts, block the phone number from your phone and notify the police department. Save the texts and videos on your phone until the police department can view and collect the evidence, after which you may erase the message. Do not return the phone call or respond to the message.

Scammers are always seeking ways to threaten our community by instilling fear and depriving residents of hard-earned income. If you see or hear anything suspicious, immediately notify the police department.

Prescott Valley Police Department can be contacted at (928) 772-9267 for non-emergencies, 911 for emergencies. You may also contact Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.
