Girl Scouts Donation

Girl Scout Troop 1653 paid a visit to the firefighters of Station 74 on Saturday, delivering over 50 boxes of cookies to the station for distribution throughout Prescott Fire Department.  As per the rules to maintain their non-profit status, any cash donations made to the troop between the dates of January 21 to March 3, aka “cookie season”, must be converted to boxes of cookies and then given away as a donation.

The troop had selected the Prescott Fire Department to be their intended recipient prior to the season starting.  A  dozen of the troop’s girls visited the station Saturday morning, giving the firefighters a wagonload of cookies.  In addition to experiencing a presentation on fire safety, the girls were treated to a tour of the station and the engine.  New firefighter Jayce Golosewski even donned his full firefighting ensemble to show the young ladies how firefighters dress for the job.  The firefighters were sincerely thankful for the troop’s consideration in making their donation.
