The storm was one of the worst in 30 years, dumping well over two feet of snow in many parts of the Prescott area. Yet roads were cleared as quickly as possible, power never went out and for the most part, no roads were closed.
Mayor Mengarelli wants to recognize the City Staff and those whose efforts made the Snowpocalypse seem manageable.
On Facebook, he wrote,
"ATTENTION PRESCOTT RESIDENTS:
"At our City Council Voting Session on Tuesday, February 26th at 3pm we will be honoring and thanking our city staff for their efforts to clear roads and keep us safe during this recent storm. If you would like to say thank you to these local heroes please come to city hall this Tuesday. In addition, we are asking our residents to bring cookies to show our gratitude in a tangible way. PRESCOTT, let’s show our city workers how much we appreciate them!"
In other council meeting news, there will be an update on economic development and a special 5:30 PM meeting to learn more about the status of water in the local area. Expect a full and informative day.
