The Prescott Police Department is investigating a recent armed robbery.

The Prescott Police Department is investigating a recent Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Identity Theft that occurred in the 1500 block of Swenson St.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the suspects, Thomas Hammond a 24 year old Prescott man and Jesse Council, 34 years old, also of Prescott had met the victim in the downtown area, during the afternoon on 1-12-19. A conversation developed and they were invited back to the victim’s home. Sometime during the evening a dispute ensued and the suspects Hammond and Council beat the victim with a blunt object, a knife was also used in the attack. Hammond and Council then took the victim’s phone, credit card and fled the area in his truck.

The victim regained consciousness the next morning and called the police on 1-13-19 at approximately 0945 hours. Patrol Officers started the investigation and then called Investigators for further assistance. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and later released for his injuries.

The vehicle was later recovered in 100 block of E. Gurley, along with some of the other missing property. 2 suspicious subjects near the vehicle were contacted by Officers and spoken with. They were identified as Hammond and Council and were taken to the Police Department and interviewed by Investigators, and later arrested.

Hammond and Council were both booked into the Yavapai County Jail for numerous felony charges.
