Adding Prescott to a list that includes Brooklyn; Newport Beach, California (although that’s not exactly a small town the last time I checked); Ogunquit, Maine; Fredericksburg, Texas; Santa Claus, Indiana and many more, Country Living recognizes our hometown as one of the best small towns for Christmas in the USA.
Country Living explained,
"The holidays take on a Western twang in Prescott. Activities center around historic Courthouse Plaza, ablaze with more than a million lights for the season and site of the town's Christmas tree. On the day of the tree-lighting, Sharlott Hall Museum hosts a Frontier Christmas Open House where locals enjoy hot cider and cookies while listening to stories about pioneer holidays."
But, there is so much they didn’t have room to add: Jersey Lilly’s Fundraiser kickoff party, the Holiday Light Parade, Ken Bennett reading the Christmas Story at the 64th Annual Christmas Courthouse lighting, the Christmas Parade and Acker Night. This year, of course, is the 2nd Annual Grand Marshal Gala, sponsored by the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. We don’t want to leave out the Holiday Festival of Lights & Parade in Prescott Valley, either. And finally, who can forget about the Whiskey Row Boot Drop?
So, get ready for the holidays, folks, December is coming up quick!
