PRESCOTT—David Garcia, the Democratic candidate for Arizona Governor will address the Yavapai County Democratic Party on Saturday, September 29, at its annual fundraising Truman-Clinton Dinner at The Event Spot in Prescott Valley,

David Garcia, a fourth generation Arizonan, is a “Champion for Education,” according to the Arizona Republic. He works as a professor at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University, previously worked in the education field as a research analyst for the Arizona State Senate and in leading the Arizona Department of Education as Associated Superintendent.

Garcia’s father was a commercial painter and Vietnam-era veteran; his mother worked at an electronics factory and raised the family. Garcia married his high school sweetheart, Lori, who he met at Mesa High School. They have two daughters, Lola and Olivia, who attend public schools in Arizona. Garcia served in the U.S. Army as an infantry marksman and went to college on the G.I. Bill, earning bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. degrees.

As Governor, Garcia’s goals are to help Arizona establish top quality schools, good paying jobs and honest government.

Dr. David Brill, who spent 10 years as head of primary care at the Prescott Veterans Hospital, is a family man married to Abby, with whom he raised three children, Sophie, Louisa and Noel, a U.S. Navy enlistee. Brill founded and ran three international companies before working for the VA.
