Central Arizona Fire & Medical Authority crews were able to put fire on train out.

At approximately 12:47am Sunday morning, Battalion 6 crews received a call about an incoming train in the Paulden area that was reporting two train cars on fire. A first alarm response was sent to the area consisting of four engines, one water tender, and a battalion chief.

Crews met with the train West of Highway 89 and North of Feather Mountain Rd. There was active fire found in one of the train engines. Crews gained access to the compartment where the seat of the fire was and used dry chemical extinguishers to put the fire out. The incident was handled with two engines and a battalion chief, the remainder of the assignment was cancelled.

There were no injuries reported and crews remained on scene until railway representatives arrived. The railway company was making arrangements to bring an additional engine to the scene to get the train moved.
