Yavapai County Mountains-Northern Gila County- Yavapai County Valleys and Basins- Including the cities of Prescott, Seligman, Ash Fork, Payson, Strawberry, Young, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Cordes Junction, and Bagdad 1147 AM MST Wed Jul 11 2018


The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east central Arizona and west central Arizona, including the following areas, in east central Arizona, Northern Gila County. In west central Arizona, Yavapai County Mountains and Yavapai County Valleys and Basins.

* Through late tonight

* Abundant atmospheric moisture combined with daytime heating and limited storm movement will allow for an enhanced threat of flash flooding today from thunderstorms over Northern Gila and Yavapai Counties.

* Storms will be capable of producing over 2 inches of rain in short period of time.

* Areas of particular concern include water recreation areas across Yavapai and Gila counties, along with low water crossings and fire scars in the watch area.


A Flash Flood Watch Means That Developing Conditions May Lead To Flash Flooding Within The Watch area. People...especially those located along area creeks...rivers or other flash flood prone areas...should continue to monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action should flash flood warnings be issued.
