A collaboration between the Prescott Center for the Arts and Theaterworks in Peoria brings Forever Plaid to Prescott.

Once upon a time, there were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie) who discovered that they shared a love for music and then got together to become their idols – The Four Freshman, The Hi-Lo’s and The Crew Cuts. Rehearsing in the basement of Smudge’s family’s plumbing supply company, they became “Forever Plaid”. On the way to their first big gig, the “Plaids” are broadsided by a school bus and killed instantly. It is at the moment when their careers and lives end that the story of Forever Plaid begins…

Prescott Center for the Arts (PCA) is excited to bring Forever Plaid to the stage April 20-22. Forever Plaid is a professional production coming from Theaterworks in Peoria and known as one of the most successful musicals in recent history. PCA’s director, Robyn Allen, believes this is a win/win opportunity as “actors get to travel and gain experience in other theater environments and communities.” PCA and Theaterworks has ventured into a new partnership to share a show each season. This year Forever Plaid comes to Prescott and Big River the Musical will go to Peoria. “This type of collaboration allows us to share resources and talent,” Allen said.

Tickets can be purchased at www.pca-az.net or by calling (928) 445-3286.

Forever Plaid is based on a book by Stuart Ross, Music and Lyrics by various artists.
