Everything You Wanted to Know About Walmart's Online Grocery Pickup
Featured

Guess what? You now have a personal shopper at Walmart. You’re welcome.

Don’t feel like wandering through the store to do your shopping? Do you wish that you could have someone else do the shopping for you?

Guess what? WalMart is there for ya.

Here’s how they describe the service on WalMart.com

Yep! It’s that easy.

They held a ribbon cutting today, watch that here, courtesy of the Prescott Media Center:

Info you need:

1. It is only available locally at the Highway 69 Walmart.

2. Prices are not marked up, and there is no "shopping" fee. This is a free service.

3. There is a $30 minimum.

4. You can shop online from a desktop computer, or from your phone. Here’s how:

On your desktop computer, go to Walmart.com and look for the "Free Grocery Pickup" link right below their slideshow.

Or, go directly to the url: http://grocery.walmart.com

From your phone, you’ll need to get the app.

Shopping from the phone requires a dedicated app: Walmart Grocery. That is not the same as the regular Walmart app, so be sure you have the right one. However, if you already have an account at Walmart, your same login and password will work on both. Whew! After all, who needs to memorize two different logins?

5. On the App store, they say that for a "limited time" you can get $10 off your first order of $50 or more. However, they don’t provide any details as to how that works or how long the "limited time" is. So, no guarantees that it applies now. But, it’s worth a try, right?

Here are some screenshots from the iPhone App store:

Bonus Hint

If you use Walmart Pay on your smartphone, using the regular Walmart app, then they will compare prices for you, using their Savings Catcher. If they find a lower advertised price, they will credit your account with the difference. Just shop normally, scan in the QR code you see on the display at the checkout. After that, select "submit receipt". You can also just scan in your paper receipt, but that’s an extra step, who wants to bother with that?

It can take up to 72 hours for them to process the receipt, but you'll be notified when they have.

Does it really work? Yep. I've received a few credits in the past. On average, as I know from personal experience, Walmart's prices really are lower than their competitors. But sometimes an ad pops up that beats Walmart. So, you might as well save a few extra pennies and not have to find it yourself.
