Prescott PD Announces ‘Name the K-9’ Contest

The Prescott Police Department, through the generosity of the Yavapai County Community Foundation, was the recipient of a recent K-9 grant.  Our newest member will be arriving the first week of May.  She is a 16-month-old Labrador Retriever and will be trained as a single purpose, drug sniffing police dog.

We wish to welcome her to our agency and give her a proper name, however we need some help.  We are asking for Prescott elementary school children, 6th grade and below, to help us name her.  We encourage children, with the help of their parents, to visit us on Facebook at PrescottPD and/or Twitter @PrescottPD, and submit their suggestions.  We hope area children will be creative and have fun with this venture.  Make sure to also include your first name and the school you attend.

The deadline for submissions will be May 1st.  A committee consisting of PD personnel and City of Prescott staff will select a deserving winner.

The selected winner/s will receive an invitation to come and tour the Police Department and meet the new dog and her Officer.  Pizza might be involved too!
