Governor Doug Ducey has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset, today, on Monday, November 7. This is in honor of Staff Sergeant Kevin J. McEnroe, of Tucson, Arizona, who died on November 4, 2016, in Jafr, Jordan, in support of Operation Inherent Resolve According to initial reports, Staff Sergeant McEnroe died of injuries sustained from small arms fire.
The ArmyTimes reports that McEnroe, 30, had over 8 years of service and was on his third overseas tour. "His awards include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.”
McEnroe was 30 years old.
The Governor will again order flags at all state buildings lowered to half-staff on the day of Staff Sergeant McEnroe's interment. Arrangements are still pending and will be communicated as soon as possible.
