The Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe (YPIT) plans to build a new Casino Resort on the Northeast corner of Highway 69 and the Yavpe Connector. According to a March 27, 2014 release, posted on a Frontier Village retailer's Facebook page, the groundbreaking is scheduled for the early fall of 2014, with completion "...anticipated in late winter of 2016."
This will be a destination resort which will consolidate the the two current facilities Bucky's and Yavapai Casinos. Leo A. Daly is the architectural, engineering and interiors firm for the project.
"The new state-of-the-art Casino and Hotel complex will feature approximately 50,000 square feet of Casino space with an attached 60-80 room upscale resort/hotel. The facility will offer restaurants serving a variety of cuisines, a central video bar and a flexible event space that will accommodate a variety of entertainment events. The facility's 'destination' design is focused on bringing more excitement and value for current customers, as well as drawing in new customers from outside the region."
The YPIT expects this project to have an economic impact for the Prescott region of $80 million over the next 18 months, based upon an economic multiplier effect as calculated by the Yavapai College Regional Economic Development Center.
Further information will be provided to the public and media at a press conference on Saturday.
